Why not choose the easiest way to reduce Ammonia Slip?
|
A beautifully simple tool for reliable reduction of ammonia emissions and ammonia in the ash resulting from SNCR and SCR applications.
|
|
Description
Ammonia slip is a known unwanted by-product when using either SNCR or SCR processes to reduce NOX emissions. Possible results, to name a few, include unacceptable ammonia emissions, contamination of fly ash, and air heater pluggage primarily due to ammonia sulfate/bisulfate production. None of the so called "cures" for ammonia slip are economically or environmentally acceptable until now, with the advent of HERA's ADS™system. With the ADS™ system, some of the hot and/or intermediate layers of the heat exchange elements of regenerative air heaters include an integrated adsorbent/desorbent media. The media is structured as a molecular sieve to adsorb ammonia molecules on the gas side (while rejecting S02 or S03molecules) and desorbing the adsorbed ammonia into the incoming air. The desorbed ammonia is destroyed in the boiler or reused in the SNCR or SCR system.
Features and Benefits
Significant reaction of ammonia slip without the production of additional sulfates and lower concentration of ammonia in the fly ash. Plant processes are not detrimentally affected by ADS™ System introduction (i.e. no additional pressure drop) and the system works within the confines of the existing facility. ADS™ is designed to provide long life with no loss of air heater efficiency.

The Air Heater and ADS
ADS is positioned in the hot and possibly intermediate layers of a regenerative air heater.
Typical Users
Fossil fuel burning energy producers, catalyst manufacturers, providers of SCR and SNCR equipment or services, and companies involved in NOx control.
